The Royal Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo would sincerely like to thank the Hon. Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol, Chairman of the Mindanao Development Authority for heeding the request of His Royal Majesty Ampun Sultan Hadji Muedzul-Lail Tan Kiram, The 35th Sultan of Sulu and North Borneo on behalf of his people in North Borneo (Sabah) who are currently affected by the COVID-19 global pandemic.

His Royal Majesty has requested the Hon. Secretary Piñol to directly convey this urgent message to H.E. President Rodrigo Duterte, the President of the Philippines. The distinguished Secretary publicly announced this important matter on his social media account.

The Mindanao Development Authority is a Philippine government agency that stimulates the effective socioeconomic development of Mindanao and the Southern Philippines. The Sultanate of Sulu is a sub-national monarchy located in the Southern Philippines.
